Claim: Multiple claims say two Electoral Commission (EC) officials collapsed in Okaikwei North constituency as a result of police’s use of pepper spray.

Explanation: The Ghana Fact-Checking Coalition has confirmed the story from the constituency and found it to be true. An observer with the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) explained that the incident occurred when the police used pepper spray to control a rowdy crowd during the counting of the ballot papers. The affected officials were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
