Claim : An X (formerly Twitter) user claims that Martin Amidu accused John Mahama of being the father of corruption in his new revelation in relation to the Airbus scandal.
Verdict: False

Explanation: In 2020, the Office of the Special Prosecutor, then headed by Martin Amidu, released a report on investigations into the Airbus Scandal. It was about impropriety in Ghana’s acquisition of three military aircrafts from Airbus during the Mills-Mahama Administration. In his report, Amidu referred to John Mahama as ‘Government Official One.’
Subsequently, Amidu resigned from Office in the same year. He has therefore not conducted any new investigations into the matter. Mr Mahama was later cleared of any corruption-related activity this year by the current Special Prosecutor, Kissi Adjebeng.
Ghana Fact-Check Coalition finds no evidence to support the claim.
