On November 13, 2022, a photo emerged online with bundles of GHS 10 notes stashed in the trunk of a saloon car.
The photo was accompanied by a tweet by the handle @AbdulRaufIbra20, which claimed that money was bandied around during the recently held National Democratic Congress’ ( NDC) regional election at the University of Development Studies,Tamale Campus.
This tweet stirred reactions with over 86 comments, 60 retweets and 331 likes.
Come and see how money, physical cash is flying at the NDC congress grounds in Tamale at UDS Dungu Campus… They will later come and be crying Ghana is broke.

Using a google reverse image search and Yandex image search ,Fact-check Ghana has verified the picture and found it to be misleading.
Results from the search using both tools show that the photo was posted online for the first time by a Facebook account called Kade Senior High Technical on November 27, 2016.
It was sighted online again on November 7, 2017, and March 29, 2017 respectively in posts by two different Instagram accounts.
From the search results using google reverse image, it is clear that the picture is no way connected to the NDC’s regional elections held from Nov. 11-13,2022.
